David Lynwood North, 78, of Wilmington, Delaware died March 20, 2024 in Vero Beach, Florida after suffering cardiac arrest.
A Connecticut native, Dave was born in Hartford April 2,1945 to Charles and Rita LeFebvre North and grew up in nearby Glastonbury. He graduated from Merrimack College in North Andover, Massachusetts with a BS Degree in Engineering. An engineer by both disposition and trade, Dave worked for the Boeing Company in Pennsylvania and for DuPont in West Virginia, Texas and Delaware over the course of his career.
He is survived by his wife of 55 years Ann (Hudson); son Michael North and fiancée Leanne Reid of Apopka, Florida; daughter and son-in-law Jennifer and David Catts of Huntersville, NC; sisters Anne North and Cheryl North of Connecticut and Pat Witham of Florida; grandson Justin Martinez-Catts and wife, Brianna and son Azriel; of Youngsville, NC and grandsons Matthew, Brian, and Evan North all of Delaware; and several nieces and nephews.
A viewing will be held Tuesday, March 26 at 10:00am at St. Helena Church, 602 Philadelphia Pike, Wilmington, followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00am. Burial will be in Massachusetts at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial donation to the St. Francis Friary, 1901 Prior Road, Wilmington, DE 19809 would be appreciated.
