Dorothy M. Hughes “Dot”, age 89, of Wilmington, DE, passed away on February 23, 2024.
She was born in Philadelphia, PA to the late Harold and Margaret MacDonald. Dot was a 1952 graduate of Upper Darby High School and proud of her purple and gold. She had a long career at Kirkwood Fitness Club until her retirement at the age of 83.
Dots hobbies include skiing and relaxing on the beaches in Ocean City, NJ. She always loved a good party, boating and watching the Phillies and the 76ers.
She was preceded in death by her former husband, Richard Hughes, Sr. Dot is survived by her children, Wendy Verna (Joe), Richard Hughes (Cheryl) and Todd Hughes (Paula), her brother, Harold MacDonald (Rona), her grandchildren, Emily DeVore (Michael) Adam Verna, Evan Hughes and Keirstin Hughes, her great-granddaughter, Kennedy DeVore and nieces and nephews.
A gathering will be held from 6:00-8:00 p.m. on Friday, March 8, 2024 at the McCrery & Harra Funeral Home, 3924 Concord Pike (Rt. 202 South of Silverside Road), Wilmington, DE 19803.
