Anna P. Giannatos, age 86, peacefully departed on February 17, 2024.
Anna was the daughter of Leon and Mary Pappas, born in Salem, New Jersey on November 29, 1937. She was a graduate of Penns Grove Regional High School, in New Jersey and later married Gerasimos “Gerry” Giannatos who preceded her in death on December 4, 2017.
Anna took immense pride in her extensive tenure with at the DuPont Company, and her active involvement with many church and fraternal organizations, including the Ladies Philoptochos Society, Young at Heart, and Bible Study groups and looked forward every year to help at the Greek Festival. Her past leadership and commitment with the Ruth Chapter No. 19 of the Order of the Eastern Star helped aid children with special needs since the 1970s.
Known for her sharp wit, and keen mind to many, Mom was a devoted wife and mother to us, but as you see in the picture, she didn’t suffer fools gladly!
Anna is survived by her sons Stavros (Teresa), and Christian, and her sister, Virginia Savopoulos.
Friends may call on Monday February 26, 2024 from 10:00-11:00 a.m. at Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church 808 N. Broom Street, Wilmington, DE 19806 followed by a funeral service at 11:00 a.m. Burial will be private at Lombardy Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may her be made to the church in her memory.
