Rodden, James F.

James Forrest Rodden (Jim), age, 80, passed away peacefully on February 20th, 2024, surrounded by his loving family.

Jim was born and raised in Salem County, New Jersey where he was a Class of 1962 Salem High School Graduate. As a kid, he enjoyed summers in Ocean City Maryland with his father and spending time on the beach.

After high school, Jim enlisted in the United States Air Force and was deployed to Spain where he served most of his time. Once his service was complete, he returned to Salem County where he met the Love of his Life, Kathleen. They married and settled in Carneys Point where he also started his career at DuPont, Chambers Works. He worked for 36 years before making the decision to retire in 2003. Jim was also actively involved with Carneys Point Township, serving on many boards and was Township Treasurer for a number of years.

Jim is survived by his wife of 57 years Kathleen, his Daughters Denise Dyson & Karen Perry (Jay), Brothers Martin Smith-Rodden (Pam) & Phillip Rodden (Sue), and Cousin Jimmy Ayars who was always like a little brother to him.

In addition, Jim is survived by his Grandchildren who lovingly refer to him as Grampy! Ashley McDonough (Dylan), Zachary McDonough (Lillian), Austin Dyson, Emma Perry, and Great-Grand Daughter Maxine Russler. Also, many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Jim was predeceased by his Mother Bertha Ayars, Father Bernie Rodden, Stepmother Katherine Rodden, and his son Buddy Rodden.
