Janice Hunter Antonio, 68, of Warwick, MD passed away February 11, 2024 at home surrounded by her family, after a tough battle with brain cancer.
She was born on May 4, 1955 in Port Glasgow, Scotland, to John Eric Hunter and Margaret Devine. She was one of 7 children. Janice’s early life was fraught with tragedy, her mother passed at a young age, and her father became unable to care for her and her siblings.
Seeking a better life for herself, Janice followed her sister Joan, relocating to the United States on December 12, 1970 when she was 15 years old. She graduated from Delcastle Technical High School and later became a U.S. citizen on July 22nd, 2011. She was an industrious homemaker and started her own residential cleaning service which she ran for many years. Ever the life of the party, Janice loved entertaining at her home in Warwick and was a very gracious host.
Janice is survived by her husband of 45 years Michael Antonio, her two children; Shannon Clark and Michael Hunter Antonio, step-daughter Michelle Connelly, 3 siblings Margaret, John, and Eric, 9 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren, who will dearly miss her.
Family and friends are invited to celebrate Janice’s life at Schaefers Canal House 208 Bank Street, Chesapeake City MD on Saturday March 2nd at 12pm. A luncheon buffet will be provided. Please gather with us to share your fond memories and honor Janice’s life.
