Camilla Beattie, age 81, of Wilmington, DE of Wilmington, DE died on February 6, 2024 at the Christiana Hospital.
Camilla graduated from Spring Hill College, a prestigious Jesuit College in Mobile, Alabama in 1964, and moved to Pennsylvania to live with her cousin. It was at her new home up north where she met her husband, Leo, who she would share 51 years of marriage. Camilla was a school teacher at St. Mary Magdalen Church and also worked as a legal secretary for Skadden & Arps Law Firm. In her spare time she loved to dance and went out weekly with a dancing group. Camilla also was part of a card group and book club where she made many longtime friends.
Camilla was predeceased by her husband, Leo W. “Chief” and daughters Camilla and Jennifer. She is survived by her sons Shawn (Jennifer) and Ryan; and grandchildren Kayla, Cole, and Kendall.
A viewing will be held on Monday, February 12 from 10:30 – 11:30 am at Saint Mary Magdalen Church, 7 Sharpley Rd., Wilmington, DE with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:30 am. Burial will be private.
