Phillips, Carley

Carley Parvis Phillips, age 90, of Malvern, PA, formerly of Wilmington, DE, died January 6, 2024, at her home in Malvern. Carley was born in Wilmington, DE, graduated from P.S. Dupont High School in 1951 and attended Beaver College (now Arcadia University) where she studied fine arts. She worked for the Dupont Company from 1952 until 1955 when she devoted herself to being a homemaker after marrying in 1955.

Carley was a 50-plus year member of the Paoli Presbyterian Church, where she was an active volunteer. She was also a member of P.E.O., a women’s educational service organization for over 70 years. She enjoyed needlework, gourmet cooking, boating, watching the Phillies, Eagles, and Penn State football games.

Carley was predeceased by her husband of 44 years, John H. Phillips III. She is survived by her children, John E. Phillips (Melissa) of Landenberg, PA, and Steven B. Phillips (Patsy) of New Braunfels, TX; her grandchildren, E. Tyler Phillips (Rebecca) of Oxford, PA, Meghan C. Waber (Joshua) of West Grove, PA, M. Olivia Phillips of New Braunfels, TX and John S. Phillips (Daenaya), also of New Braunfels, TX; and four great-grandchildren, with two more to arrive in 2024.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 pm on January 25, 2024, at the Paoli Presbyterian Church (225 S. Valley Rd., Paoli, PA 19301). A visitation and fellowship will follow the memorial service. Interment at Centre Friends Meeting House Cemetery will be private. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to the John H. Phillips III Scholarship Fund for Horseshoe Scout Res. c/o Chester County Community Fund, The Lincoln Building, 28 W.
