With deepest sympathies for the loss of Shawn M. Nascembeni, age 56, who passed away on Wednesday January 10, 2024 due to complications of illnesses. Shawn was born on July 8, 1967 in Hartford, CT and resided in Newark, DE. He was active in many local AA meetings. Shawn was a member of St. Philip’s Lutheran Church, Wilmington where he enjoyed fellowship and participated as a church council member and the AV ministry. Shawn received his Bachelor of Arts degree from Marshall University in West Virginia . After many years of teaching English in South Korea, he returned to Delaware and worked in accounting. He was Vice President of Harmony Weavers and loved golf, fishing, bird watching and hiking. Shawn loved talking and sharing stories with people. He had a passion to learn, create and teach new designs. He was in the process of starting his own business, “Shawn’s Artistic Reflections” in which he created designs in stain glass and hand weaving. Shawn is survived by his mother, Arlene Favreau-Pysher of Newark, his father, Daniel J. Nascembeni of Dorcas, WV, his brother, David Nascembeni (Michelle Lathrop) of Wales, MA, his nieces and nephews: Jacob and Kelly Nascembeni of Worcester, MA, Drew Nascembeni of Wales, MA, Alicia Nascembeni of Wales, MA and many aunts, uncles and cousins. A viewing will be held on Wednesday, January 17, 2024 from 10:00-11:00 a.m. at St. Phillip’s Lutheran Church, 5320 Limestone Road, Wilmington, DE 19808 where a service will follow at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Philip’s.
