Dorothy Taylor Tyson went home to be with the Lord on January 8, 2024. She was the daughter of the late John and Anna Taylor. She was preceded in death by her brother, John Taylor; her husband, Ken Tyson; and their son, Kenneth Larry Tyson.
Dot was a graduate of the Class of 1949 of P.S. DuPont High School and of Goldey College. She worked at a daycare center for 15 years and had her own daycare for 11 years. She enjoyed watching those children grow to be caring, responsible adults.
Dot was a member of Peninsula McCabe Methodist Church. She was a Sunday school teacher and sang in the choir for 73 years. Her church was an important part of her life.
She is survived by her daughter, Lisa Bryan (Greg); her much loved grandchildren, Victoria Collis (Schuyler) and Steven Bryan (Samantha); and her great-grandchildren, Charlie and Alex Collis.
An interment service for Dot will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Friday, January 12 at Silverbrook Cemetery (3300 Lancaster Ave., Wilmington, DE 19805). In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to the Sunday Breakfast Mission.
