Furches, Stephen Zackary (Zack)

With heavy hearts we announce that Stephen Zackary Furches (Zack), age 50, of Clinton, CT, was called home to be with his Savior on January 5th, 2024, when he suffered a fatal heart attack while exercising.

Zack was born in Wilmington, DE and was the son of the late Milton and Anne (White) Furches. He was raised in Hockessin, DE and graduated high school in 1991. He then proudly served in the United States Air Force from 1992-1996.

He married the love of his life in 1997 and worked various jobs till he was called into the ministry in 2006 and graduated from The College at Southeastern in 2010 with his BA degree in Christian Studies and Pastoral Ministries. He served as the Asst/Youth Pastor at Twin Oaks Baptist Church in Henry, VA for four years before being called by God to become the senior pastor at Clinton Bible Fellowship in 2014. Pastor Zack, or PZ as he was often called, and his family were always so grateful to be well loved and cared for by each church family they served. If you knew Zack, you know he loved his Lord Jesus Christ first and foremost and was passionate to share the truth and power of His resurrection with anyone his life touched. His next love was his wife of 26 years and his three children. Beyond that, he loved the game of football (Go Pack!), a good snowstorm, Casapulla’s and the Christmas season, which he celebrated with child-like delight.

He is survived by his wife Rebekah, his three children Gabriel (and wife Katie), Luke, and Sarah, his grandson Isaac Zackary, and his sisters Gail White, Monica Richardson, and Rhonda Norris, and their husbands.

The funeral Service will be held at Ogletown Baptist Church, 316 Red Mill Rd, Newark, DE on Monday, January 15th at 11am. Zack will be buried at Gracelawn Memorial Park immediately following the service. All are welcome to join the family for a light lunch back at the church.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Disciples Church in Lviv, Ukraine to assist them in building a bomb shelter in their church and feeding the refugees that are living there. Zack was personal friends with the pastor after visiting there in 2020 and was burdened to help them. This can be done by going to https://onrealm.org/ClintonBibleFel/-/form/give/now and selecting “Elisey Gift” from the fund drop down menu.
