Bradley, Dorothy E.

Dorothy E. Bradley,99, went to be with the Lord our Savior on Sunday December 24, 2023, at Kentmere Nursing Center.

She was born in The Dalles, Oregon on November 29, 1924. She was preceded in death by her husband, James N. Bradley. She also was preceded in death by her parents Floyd and Ada Erskine and 2 brothers, Richard Erskine and Don Smith. Dorothy is survived by her daughter Diana B. DeWalt and her husband Roy, a sister Laverne Green and her sister-in-law, Patricia Bradley.

Dorothy spent her early years in Seattle, Washington in the Washington Children’s Home. Upon graduation from Queen Anne High School in Seattle she made her way to San Diego, California where she met her beloved husband, James, at the conclusion of WWII. They moved to Chester. PA where together they started Bradley Dental Technicians. Dorothy did everything including errands and bookkeeping. They were avid dance roller skating partners which is how they met in California. She was heavily involved at Immanuel Baptist Church In Chester, Pa where she taught Sunday School, VBS, and was part of the women’s group. She was also an active member of the Parkside (PA) Fire Company Auxiliary. Dorothy discovered her passion for bowling and became a member of the 600 Club in the WIBC, traveling all over the country for tournaments. She loved to travel, especially with the Golden Saints and JOY (Just Older Youth) travel groups. Her favorite trip was to Israel, she loved the Lord with all her heart and this trip was a dream. Never one for being idle, she enjoyed crocheting, tending to her roses and reading.

A service will be held on January 8, 2023, at Brandywine Valley Church, 7 Mt. Lebanon Road, Wilmington, DE 19803-1792 where friends may call from 9:30-10:30 am followed by a Celebration of Life service at 10:30. Luncheon will follow the service in the Fellowship Hall. The burial will be held privately in the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery.
