Sharan (Layman) Jaquin, 72, left us on December 25th, 2023 at Temple University Hospital after her long fought battle with lung disease.
Sharan was born on November 4th, 1951, in Wilmington, Delaware to Helen Schneckenburger-Layman and the late Harry Layman.
Sharan graduated from McKean High School in 1969. She then married her husband, Lewis, in August of 1971. Following the birth of her children, Sharan attended Delaware Technical Community College. for nursing. She graduated with her nursing degree in 1986. She then began her long, fulfilling career as a nurse for over 25 years.
In 2013, she was diagnosed with lung cancer and survived. She was fortunate enough to live another ten years after her diagnosis. During those years, she enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandson. Her main interests included bowling, cooking, and reading.
Sharan is survived by her mother, Helen Layman-Groves; husband, Lewis Jaquin; her siblings Alan “Buddy” Layman and wife Karen, Janis DiCristofaro and husband John “Jack”, Nancy Layman-Rankins; Daughter, Rebecca “Becky” Berke; Son, Lewis “Scott” Jaquin (Maegin); grandchildren, Alyssa Berke, Rileigh Jaquin, Tyler Plaster, Jaxson Jaquin: great-grandson, Caydin Berk
A visitation will be Sunday January 7 from 2-4 pm at the McCrery & Harra Funeral Home, 3710 Kirkwood Highway, Wilmington. Burial will be private.
