Wadman, Harvey R.

Harvey Richard Wadman, 70, a lifelong resident of the Wilmington area died on December 19, 2023 after valiantly fighting a year-long battle with cancer.

Harve was in the first graduating class of Concord High School and then attended Chowan College in North Carolina. He spent his entire working career at the DuPont Company, many of those years as a video specialist. Outside of work, Harve had many interests. He acted, directed, and danced in many local theater and college theatrical productions. Harve won Best Actor for the Alumni Theater Association’s production of “The Loveliest Afternoon of the Year.” Harve’s other interests included travel, photography, and music; he was also an avid movie buff. Harve greatly enjoyed spending time with his close circle of friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Irene Smiley Wadman and Harvey J. Wadman, Jr.; and his sister, Donna Ellis. Harve is survived by 2 sisters, his twin, Kathleen Watson, and Laurie Brodie; 1 nephew; 2 nieces; cousins; friends; and his beloved cat, Sonny, a stray Harve adopted during a lunar eclipse.

A memorial service will be held at 3:30pm, on Tuesday, January 9 at the McCrery & Harra Funeral Home, 3710 Kirkwood Highway, where a visitation will be held after 2:30pm.
