Yokimcus, Floyd A.

Floyd Yokimcus was born on August 30, 1938, in Pittsburgh, PA. He was known as Pop, Pop Pop Yo or GG-Pop to those that loved him. He grew up in Duquesne, PA. He graduated from Clairton High School in 1956. After high school he served as a Radioman, RM3 (E-4) in the Navy from 1956 to 1962. He completed his service stationed in Naples Italy. After being Honorably Discharged, he moved to Delaware to work for Chrysler at the Newark assembly plant. He retired from Chrysler in the early 1990’s. He had a few part time jobs before starting a second career at the port of Wilmington. When he finally retired, he volunteered for Meals on Wheels and the Veterans Hospital of Wilmington Delaware.

Floyd, in his day, was a youth baseball coach, slow pitch softball pitcher (never dropped a line drive hit back to him!) bowler by the name of “Fluffy” and a proud grandfather. Nothing brought him more joy than taking his grandchildren to McDonalds or watching them participate in sports.

Floyd passed away on Saturday, December 9, 2023. He is predeceased by his parents (Victor and Stella Yokimcus). Floyd was one of eleven children! He is survived by his son, Victor Paul (Deana); son, Scott Reay (Melanie); daughter, Kristine Pearl and his greatest joys six grandchildren (Megan, Tyler, Corey, Christopher, Victor and Reayanne) and eleven great-grandchildren.
