Doris M. Bogia-Komnik passed away peacefully at the age of 88 on Monday December 11, 2023. Doris was born and raised in Wilmington, Delaware.
Doris graduated from Wilmington High and was a 1956 graduate of Memorial Hospital Nursing School. She started her career as an RN at Memorial Hospital and retired from the VA Hospital while raising her three children.
Doris was preceded in death by her mother Pearl Davis, father Millard Davis; six brothers Edward, Donald, Robert, Alfred, Harold, and Walter Davis; and her first husband, Maurice Bogia, Jr. She is survived by her husband, Henry Komnik, of 36 years; three children Deborah E Bogia (Rick Curles), Larry Bogia, and Gregg Bogia (Therese); five grandchildren, Megan, Caleb (Phyllis Jean), Katie, Alice, Elin; and four great grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held Monday Dec. 18, 2023 at Ebenezer UMC Located at 525 Polly Drummond Hill Rd, Newark DE 19711. Family and friends may call from 10:00 – 11:00 am with the service following at 11:00 am. Burial will be at Gracelawn Memorial Park.
In lieu of flower the family asks that those who wish to express sympathy consider a donation to The American Heart Association.
