Amanda Leigh Brown, age 35, of Newark, Delaware sadly passed away unexpectedly on November 20, 2023. Amanda was born on May 28, 1988, and was the beautiful daughter of Eric and Laura Brown.
Amanda graduated from Middletown High School in 2006 and to follow, pursued her work in the restaurant industry while caring for many customers and building everlasting friendships. Amanda was the brightest light in the room wherever she went. She will be remembered for her beautiful smile, contagious laugh, and genuine heart.
She was full of humor, sarcasm, and loved to make others laugh. Amanda truly made an impact on everyone’s lives that she was a part of. She loved more than anything being an aunt and wholeheartedly loved her niece and nephew. She enjoyed holidays and spending meaningful time with her family. Amanda was an avid animal lover and found immense joy and comfort in her dogs (Benny and Ki’a), cat (Munchie) and bird (Clyde)
Amanda will be forever missed by many who loved her, and our memories with her will be cherished.
She was preceded in death by her maternal grandmother Patricia E. Carpenter, who she loved dearly. Maternal grandfather Edward R. Carpenter. Paternal grandparents Edwin K. Brown and Mary Jane Brown.
She is survived by her loving parents Eric and Laura Brown, her sister Shannon Smedley (Scooby), her niece Mia, and nephew Stephen. Amanda was looking forward to the arrival of her second nephew. She is also survived by many loving Aunts, Uncles, Cousins, family, and friends.
A visitation will be held on Saturday January 20 at 10am followed by a celebration of life service at 11am at McCrery & Harra Funeral Home. 3710 Kirkwood Highway, Wilmington, DE 19808. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in loving memory of Amanda to Brandywine Valley SPCA- 290 Churchmans Road, New Castle, DE 19720.
