Frances Conomon, age 92, of Wilmington, DE., passed away Monday November 13, 2023 at home with her family. Frances was born in Wilmington on February 9, 1931 to the late Edward and Mary (nee McGaughey) Allen. In addition to her parents, Frances was predeceased by her loving husband of 52 years, George (Jerry) Conomon, her brother Edward Allen, her sisters, Mary Corcoran and Marguerite Conomon and brother-in-law John Conomon, son-in-law Richard Bernard and nephew Robert Conomon.
Frances is survived by her children Linda Conomon-Bernard who was her caregiver, Barbara Conomon-White (Ronny Wheatley) and Michael (Sharon) Conomon. She was a loving grandmother to Gheorghe Conomon, Brigitte (Dallas) Minks, Zach (Becca) White, Julianna Conomon (fiancé Jim), Brittany (Brad) Sheets and Matthew Bernard. She adored her great-grandchildren Dallas, Declan, Farrah, Faith, Micah and Harper. She was “Aunt Franny” to her nieces and nephews Jack (Dottie) Conomon, Bernadette Conomon, Patrick (Donna) Corcoran, Kim (Tom) Corcoran and numerous great-nieces and nephews.
Frances also leaves behind her loving dog Bentley, who was always by her side.
A Mass of Christian burial will be offered on Saturday November 18, 2023 at 11 am at St Matthew’s Catholic Church, 901 E. Newport Pike, Wilmington. A private burial will be held at Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Bear on Tuesday December 19, 2023 at 2pm. A viewing for friends and family will be held at McCrery and Harra Funeral Home, 3710 Kirkwood Hwy at Duncan Rd. on Saturday November 18, 2023 between the hours of 9 am – 10:15 am.
