Diana G. Swartz age 84, a lifelong Wilmingtonian, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, October 30, 2023.
She graduated from Wilmington Friends School and The University of Delaware with a B.S. degree in Education. She continued her education later in life at The University of The South, School of Theology graduating from their ministerial program.
Religion and service were an important part of her life; she was involved with Wilmington Flower Market ending as General Chairman 1976, on the Board of Directors of the Junior Board of the Medical Center of Delaware and a member of Immanual Church Highlands. She also enjoyed a long working life retiring from Winterthur Museum and finishing at Nemours Mansion and Garden.
Married to George V. Kelly of Wilmington (deceased); she had three sons, Joshua G. Kelly, Zachary M. Kelly (deceased) and Mark P. Kelly; later married William H. Swartz of Wilmington (deceased).
My Mom was wonderful, I know she enjoyed so many things, from travelling the world with Bill to her garden on 17th St and of course all the animals, maybe the boxers most of all. Mom thank you, Caroll, Mark and I will dearly miss you.
Services and burial will be held privately.
