MaryAnn Alm (Ciarlo) of Wilmington, DE passed away peacefully with family at her side on Thursday, October 26th at the age of 80. Loved and cherished by many, MaryAnn will be missed dearly not only by her loved ones, but by all who knew her beautiful spirit, kind heart, and forever pleasant personality.
MaryAnn is survived by her loving children, Gary Alm and Gina Alm-Myers (Jim); and her beloved grandchildren, Jonathan Crist (Lauren) and Anthony Alm, and her great granddaughters Clara and Emma Crist. She is also survived by her sister Marge Bukowski (Leonard) and brother John Ciarlo (Nancy), as well as countless nieces, nephews, and cousins. She is preceded in death and returns to the loving arms of her father Gaetano and mother Maria P. Ciarlo, her husband Ronald H. Alm of almost 60 years, and her siblings Annina Facciola (Ciarlo), Joseph Ciarlo, Anthony Ciarlo, Philomena Doucette (Ciarlo).
Born and raised in Wilmington, she graduated from Wilmington High School (1962). MaryAnn always reminisced of being the lead drum majorette during her time in high school. She married and raised her two children then went to work and retired from ACME Markets after 20+ years. MaryAnn loved spending time with family and friends and was always on the go, whether with her sister or her friends, but above all she cherished time spent with her children and grandchildren the most.
A visitation will be held on Saturday, November 4th from 10:00am – 12:00pm at Corpus Christi Roman Catholic Church, 905 New Rd, Wilmington, DE followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 12:00pm.
Interment will be private for close family at Delaware Veteran’s Memorial Cemetery at a later date.
