Gordon E. Parker, 79, died after a short illness on October 20, 2023. A lifelong Delawarean, Gordon graduated from William Penn High School, after which he served twenty years in the US Navy. Following his retirement from the Navy, Gordon worked in the cafeteria at Conrad High School. He was an avid bowler and youth bowling coach, loved bingo, dining out, shopping, and dancing. He was a member of Marshallton United Methodist Church, where he served as a worship leader.
Gordon was predeceased his previous wife, Barbara Parker. His is survived by his wife of ten years, Pinkey Parker; his children, James and Jennifer Parker; and several step-children and grandchildren.
Services will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Friday, October 27, 2023 at Marshallton United Methodist Church. The viewing will begin at 11:00 a.m. Interment will be private.
