Olive “Margaret” Marvel passed away peacefully on Sunday, October 15, 2023 at Somerford House in Newark, DE.
She was born in Glasgow, Scotland in 1931 and emigrated to America when she was 24. Margaret worked as a medical secretary at the Medical Center of Delaware for many years. She was an accomplished ballroom dancer, and competed in many dances in Scotland. In addition to dancing, she enjoyed researching ancestral history, gardening and collecting dolls and toys. Most of all, she was devoted to her family and pets.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Henry Medford Marvel in 2005. Margaret is survived by her children Wayne A. Marvel (Tammy) and Dawn E. Picollelli (Nick), her daughter-in-law Joanne M. Marvel, her grandchildren, Scott A. Marvel (Pattie), Sara B. Marvel, Jennifer M. Rybicki (Greg) and Nicholas D. Picollelli, Jr. (Chelsea). She is also survived by her great-grandchildren, Lucky, Sloane and Langley-Grace Marvel, Matthew and Emily Rybicki.
Family and friends may call on Saturday, October 21, 2023 from 10:00-11:00 a.m. at the McCrery and Harra Funeral Home, 3710 Kirkwood Highway, Wilmington, DE 19808 where a memorial service will follow at 11:00 a.m.
