Susan “Sue” K. Dixon, age 67, of Wilmington, DE unexpectedly passed away on Wednesday, October 4, 2023 surrounded by family.
Sue was a long- time associate of Acme Markets until her retirement in 2018, and a 1975 graduate of Delcastle High School, where she met her husband and love of her life, Ray. She was an avid book lover and a devoted and dedicated wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend.
Sue is preceded in death by her husband Raymond J. Dixon, Jr., Parents, Nelson and Peg Hood, and sister, Florrie Hood. She is survived by her daughters, Lysa Dixon, Samantha Dixon (John), and Kerri Welcher (Zach). Her grandchildren, Caitlyn and Olivia Conaway, and Joe Hee. Her siblings, Anne Taylor, Peggy Lewis, Trudi Hood, John Hood (Beth), Betsy West, and many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
Family and friends may call on Tuesday, October 10, 2023 from 10:00-11:00 a.m. at the McCrery & Harra Funeral Home, 3710 Kirkwood Highway, Wilmington, DE 19808 where a remembrance service will follow at 11:00 a.m. Burial will be in Silverbrook Cemetery.
