Marian Janet Stewart Lynam passed away on September 22, 2023 at the age of 91.
Born in Wilmington, DE on February 13, 1932, to the late Charles L. and Zilpah Whitesell Stewart. Marian met her future husband at the tender age of 13 when she saw him getting a haircut at a local barbershop. She and Edwin C. Lynam, Jr. were married on April 21, 1951. They were married for 65 years until he passed in 2016 after a long illness.
Marian was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She is survived by her three children, Stewart (Jean) Lynam of Auburn, MA; Shelley Lynam of Wilmington, DE; and Sally (Tim) Boyle of Louisville, KY; six grandsons, Matthew and Andrew Lynam, Jacob Foraker, Sean (Britt), Tyler (Chelsea) and Torey Boyle; one granddaughter, Jenna Foraker; and six great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her brother Richard Stewart of Delaware and her brother-in-law, the Rev. Richard Lynam of Oregon.
Marian loved her family and all the special occasions with them. She enjoyed gardening, especially watching hummingbirds that would come to her garden, vacationing at the beach and decorating her home for the holidays.
There will be a private internment for family on October 21, 2023.
