Yvonne Mattero, 87, of Claymont, DE, passed away at home surrounded by her family on August 11, 2023. Yvonne enjoyed traveling, going to Arden Dinner Theater with her companion, Bill Rush, spending time in her garden, and preparing meals for the family.
Yvonne was preceded in death by her mother, Gladys Shaffer (née Hunter); father, Clarence Shaffer, Sr.; husband, Angelo Mattero; brother, Clarence Shaffer, Jr.; and sisters, Betty Ingargiola, Violet Robinson, and Elenor Leach.
She is survived by her son, Charles Mattero (Virginia); daughter, Donna Mittelman (Larry); three grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to AccentCare Hospice.
Yvonne’s service and burial at Lawncroft Cemetery will be private. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to the American Heart Association.
