Anne T. Bartocha, age 98, formerly of Eastburn Acres and Woodcrest, passed away on Monday, August 7, 2023.
Anne was born in Wilmington, DE and was the daughter to the late Peter and Frances (Uczynski) Piekarski. She was educated at St. Hedwig & St. Paul’s Commercial School.
She worked a short time at St. Francis Hospital then dedicated her life to homemaking and caring for her siblings as they aged. Anne loved to read and watch soap operas, as well as completing word search puzzles.
She is predeceased by her husband of 52 years, Frank T. Bartocha, as well as her siblings Joseph, Veronica, Stanley, Irene, and Edmund Piekarski. She is survived by her daughter, Geraldine Russell (John); grandchildren, Jennifer Tetrick (Jeff) and Jason Russell (Lora); great-grandson Justin Tetrick, who was born on her birthday, as well as nieces and nephews.
A viewing will be held on Friday, August 18 from 10-11 am at St. Matthews RC Church, 901 E Newport Pike, Wilmington where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11am. Burial will follow at Cathedral Cemetery.
